Presenting Work

Definition

Framing one’s own work for an audience — stating the problem, the approach, and the decisions, then letting the work carry the rest.

Why it matters

Work rarely speaks entirely for itself, and in professional contexts the maker is almost always present when it’s reviewed. Presenting badly undersells work that deserves better.

Example

Opening with the constraint set, showing the range explored, then the resolved piece — rather than narrating the file’s history chronologically.
