Section 9 · Time, Motion & Interaction
Easing
- Definition
The rate of change applied to motion over time — how it accelerates, decelerates, or moves at constant speed.
- Why it matters
Easing is what separates motion that feels natural and intentional from motion that feels mechanical or abrupt.
- Example
An object that eases out (slowing as it arrives) reads as more organic than one that stops instantly.
