Color Models and Profiles

Definition

The systems (RGB, CMYK, HSB) used to define and reproduce color, and the profiles that ensure consistent color across devices.

Why it matters

Color that looks right on screen can shift or fail entirely in print if the model and profile aren’t matched to the output.

Example

A vivid RGB blue that turns dull and muddy when printed in CMYK without profile correction.
